inaam vs australian ethical.

Australian Ethical is a fund manager with screened managed funds and super. inaam is one impact fund reached through an app. Here is how they differ, in each provider’s own numbers.

Sign-up happens in the app. The subscription is $10 a month, $120 a year. The minimum to invest in the fund is $100.

the short answer

Australian Ethical is an ethical fund manager. It runs screened managed funds and super. Its retail managed funds start at $1,000, or $500 on a regular investment plan, and charge a management fee as a share of your balance: 1.39% to 1.69% a year on the retail funds that minimum opens, plus transaction costs and a buy/sell spread. Its wholesale class costs less and starts at $25,000.

inaam is an impact investing app built on one registered fund. You customise five impact themes, the fund picks companies against three published pillars, and every company it holds is named in the app. The subscription is $10 a month whatever your balance, and the minimum to invest in the fund is $100.

The difference in shape is the main thing. Australian Ethical is a manager with a range of funds and a fee that moves with your balance. inaam is one fund with a flat subscription, where members customise the themes and read every company in the app.

Every figure about Australian Ethical is its own published number, read on 6 October 2026 from Australian Ethical’s fees and costs page. Product terms change, and each provider’s current PDS or product page is the authority on its own product. inaam is not affiliated with any provider named here, and nothing on this page is a recommendation about anyone else’s product. in plain words

where the two differ

a range of funds, or one fund

With Australian Ethical you pick a fund from its range. With inaam there is one fund, and you customise which of the five impact themes your money leans toward.

a share of your balance, or a flat amount

Australian Ethical’s retail funds charge 1.39% to 1.69% a year, so the dollar amount grows as the balance does. inaam stays at $10 a month. On a small balance a flat amount is a large share of it, and the fee calculator shows the maths at your balance.

how each one chooses companies

Australian Ethical avoids harmful sectors and makes some positive picks. inaam picks every company against three published pillars: financial robustness, purposeful impact and leadership calibre.

history, and super

Managers like Australian Ethical carry decades of history and a large research bench, and Australian Ethical offers super. We have neither. inaam sits outside super, and its fund is new.

who australian ethical suits

Australian Ethical suits someone who wants ethical super, or a screened managed fund from a long-established manager, and is starting with $1,000 or adding to a regular plan.

who inaam suits

inaam suits someone who wants the picking done for them, wants to read what they own, wants to say which themes the money is aimed at, and is investing for three to seven years. The fund’s target market determination says it has not been designed for anyone who needs access to their capital at short notice, or who is risk-averse and not in a position to tolerate a capital loss.

inaam vs australian ethical, quick answers.

is inaam or australian ethical cheaper?

It depends on your balance. Australian Ethical’s retail managed funds charge 1.39% to 1.69% a year, plus transaction costs and a buy/sell spread. inaam charges $10 a month whatever your balance, plus a buy-sell spread of 0.1% when you invest and when you leave. A percentage costs less in dollars on a small balance and more on a large one. Work out the yearly total at your own balance from each provider’s current documents.

what is the minimum for australian ethical and for inaam?

Australian Ethical publishes a $1,000 minimum for its retail managed funds, or $500 on a regular investment plan. The minimum to invest in the inaam fund is $100, and the $10 a month subscription is a separate amount.

does inaam offer ethical super like australian ethical?

inaam is not a super fund. It is a managed fund that sits outside super, and SMSFs and family trusts can invest in it. If you want an ethical option inside super, that is a decision about your super fund, and it is separate from investing outside super.

can i hold australian ethical and inaam at the same time?

Yes. They are separate products from separate providers, and holding one does not affect the other. Whether either suits you depends on your own circumstances.
