raiz vs spaceship.

Raiz invests your spare change into a portfolio of ETFs. Spaceship Voyager puts any amount into one of five share portfolios. Here is how the two differ, in each provider’s own numbers.

Every figure is the provider’s own, read on 12 October 2026. inaam is not affiliated with either of them.

the short answer

Raiz is a micro-investing app. It rounds up your everyday purchases and invests the spare change, alongside any recurring or lump sum deposits, into a portfolio of ETFs. The minimum is $5. It charges a monthly fee by plan: $2.50 on Lite, $5.50 on Regular and $6.50 on Plus. From $26,000 on Regular and $28,000 on Plus that monthly fee stops, and 0.275% a year applies instead.

Spaceship Voyager is a growth investing app. It has no minimum, and you choose from five portfolios: Universe, Earth, Origin, Galaxy and Explorer. The monthly fee is $3, and it does not apply while every portfolio is under $100. Each portfolio also carries a management fee of 0.15% to 0.50% a year.

So the two differ in how the money gets in, in what it buys, and in how the fee moves as your balance grows. Raiz is built around spare change and ETFs, with a flat fee that turns into a percentage on a large balance. Spaceship is built around portfolios of company shares, with a small flat fee and a percentage that applies at every balance.

in plain words

where the two differ

how the money gets in

Raiz links to your cards, rounds each purchase up and invests the spare change once it reaches $5. It takes recurring and lump sum deposits too. At Spaceship you invest whenever you like or set up an investment plan, and a plan starts at $5.

what the money buys

A Raiz portfolio is a preset mix of ETFs: three to choose from on Lite and eight on Regular. Its Plus plan adds a portfolio you build yourself. A Spaceship portfolio holds company shares: three of the five are 85% to 100% shares, and Galaxy and Explorer mix shares with bonds and cash.

how the fee moves as you grow

At Raiz the monthly fee is flat until $26,000 on Regular or $28,000 on Plus, then it stops and 0.275% a year takes its place. The ETFs inside charge their own fee throughout, estimated at 0.163% to 0.571% a year. At Spaceship the $3 a month starts once any portfolio reaches $100, and the management fee of 0.15% to 0.50% a year applies at every balance.

the ethical option

Each has one. Raiz has Emerald, its socially responsible portfolio. Spaceship has Earth, which picks companies expected to have a positive impact on people and the planet and screens out fossil fuels, weapons, tobacco, alcohol and gambling.

who raiz suits

Raiz suits someone who wants spare change invested without thinking about it. A round-up app does that better than we do.

Spaceship suits someone who wants long-run growth from a ready-made portfolio and wants to start with any amount.

the third column

where inaam sits

inaam is an impact investing app built on one registered fund. You customise five impact themes, the fund picks companies against three published pillars, and every company it holds is named in the app. The subscription is $10 a month whatever your balance, and the minimum to invest in the fund is $100.

inaam suits someone who wants the picking done for them, wants to read what they own, wants to say which themes the money is aimed at, and is investing for three to seven years. The fund’s target market determination says it has not been designed for anyone who needs access to their capital at short notice, or who is risk-averse and not in a position to tolerate a capital loss.

raiz vs spaceship, quick answers.

is raiz or spaceship cheaper?

It depends on your balance and the portfolio you pick. Raiz charges a monthly fee by plan: $2.50 on Lite, $5.50 on Regular and $6.50 on Plus. From $26,000 on Regular or $28,000 on Plus that fee is replaced by 0.275% a year. The ETFs inside a Raiz portfolio charge their own fee as well, estimated at 0.163% to 0.571% a year. Spaceship charges $3 a month once any portfolio reaches $100, plus a management fee of 0.15% to 0.50% a year on each portfolio. A flat fee is a larger share of a small balance, and a percentage costs more in dollars as a balance grows. Work out the yearly total at your own balance from each provider’s current product disclosure statement.

what is the minimum for raiz and for spaceship?

Raiz’s product disclosure statement sets a minimum investment of $5. Spaceship Voyager has no minimum investment, and an investment plan there starts at $5.

what do raiz and spaceship invest in?

Raiz’s standard portfolios and its Emerald portfolio hold exchange traded funds quoted on the ASX. Its Sapphire portfolio adds Bitcoin, its Property portfolio adds its own property fund, and its Plus plan lets you build a mix that can include ASX-listed shares. Spaceship’s Universe and Earth portfolios hold companies its team picks, Origin holds 200 of the largest global and Australian companies by rule, and Galaxy and Explorer mix shares with bonds and cash.

do raiz and spaceship have an ethical portfolio?

Each has one. Raiz calls Emerald its socially responsible portfolio. Spaceship’s Earth portfolio picks companies expected to have a positive impact on people and the planet, and it screens out companies in fossil fuels, weapons, tobacco, alcohol and gambling.

can i use raiz and spaceship at the same time?

Yes. They are separate products from separate providers, and holding one does not affect the other. Each charges its own fees, so two accounts means two sets of fees. Whether either suits you depends on your own circumstances.

where does inaam fit beside raiz and spaceship?

inaam is a different kind of product. It is one registered fund, picked against three published pillars across five impact themes that you customise, and every company it holds is named in the app. The subscription is $10 a month whatever your balance, and the minimum into the fund is $100. The full side by side puts all three in one table.
